In honor of ASHE’s National Health Care Facilities and Engineering Week , we’ve come up with the top 3 reasons why we at LSS Life Safety Services® celebrate Facility Managers and Engineers every week.

  1. Facility Managers and Engineers work diligently to make sure they maintain NFPA 101, NFPA 80, NFPA 105, and all other life safety codes that apply.  Maintaining compliance with these codes keeps the patients within their facility safe by ensuring the facility is fully protected in the event of a fire.  This is increasingly more important in health care where some patients might be unable to exit a building safely without assistance.
  2. When Facility Managers and Engineers maintain their facilities, they are maintaining the building’s overall efficiency, helping to keep health care costs down.
  3. Finally, when LSS Life Safety Services® enters a facility, the Facility Manager and Engineer provides the resources we need in order to inspect the facility’s fire and smoke dampers, fire doors, firestopping, and photoluminescence egress pathways.  Therefore, working together we can help keep patients comfortable and safe.

Facility Managers and Engineers are crucial members of our health care system.  They ensure that their facilities are efficient, operational, and most importantly, compliant and safe.  That’s why we would like to extend a very happy National Health Care Facilities and Engineering Week to all staff members that work so hard to maintain health care facilities.  LSS Life Safety Services® celebrates and commends your efforts this week and every week of the year.
