With the holiday season officially in full swing, now is the time we spend a lot of time with our family and friends. Unfortunately, that could mean for many of us spending a lot of valuable time in a healthcare facility. And whether we are celebrating a new life being born or visiting someone trying to recover form an illness or accident, there are many vulnerable lives coming in and out of a hospital, which makes the indoor air quality essential to a healthy recovery process!

Hospitals are supposed to be a safe place for patients to receive medical attention and recover, and although it is assumed that indoor air is safer, however, it is not always the case. Since a facility’s ductwork is out of sight, it is often out of mind, which means they are not regularly cleaned. This allows the ducts to become the perfect breeding ground for dangerous pollutants that causes the air patients are breathing to be contaminated. Bacteria, viruses, mold, and fungus all grow inside a dirty ductwork, which is hazardous for anyone, in particularly those in who have a weakened immune system and trying to recover.

Therefore, a clean ventilation system is an important key to keeping a safe and healthy environment for everyone who walks through your hospital’s doors. Having your ductwork cleaned can help your hospital improve its indoor air quality by removing dirt, dust and debris from your HVAC system. Not to mention, when people enter a hospital they are hoping to get better, and not get sicker from being there.

As a healthcare facility, your main goal is to help those who are sick or injured recover in a timely manner. Unfortunately, many of them are unable to move and are forced to spend most of their time indoors. Exposure to indoor air pollution for too long can cause health problems for anyone, including asthma, respiratory issues, nausea, headaches, and even cancer. So as a patient who is sick and trying to get better, it is essential to have clean air to breath.
