LOUISVILLE, Ky. (August 18, 2011) –LSS Life Safety Services (LSS), an industry leader in fire and smoke damper inspections, fire door inspections, and firestopping services, has been named a finalist in Business First’s new “Partners in Philanthropy Awards” program. The program recognizes Louisville-area businesses that support local charities with substantial donations and creative partnerships.
LSS has been a corporate sponsor for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s “Light the Night” walk for the past three years and also serves on the Executive Committee to help plan the local fundraising events. Apart from the time spent attending kick-off events and recruiting other local business to get involved with the organization, LSS also forms a company-wide walk team to raise money for “Light the Night”.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. The release of the software is just the first in many steps of a complete inspection package centered on an application that will utilize the popular Apple iPad.
“LSS Site Surveyor is the next generation of passive fire protection management”, said Garry Cronin, Vice President of Operations for LSS Life Safety Services. “By marrying the online reporting portal with the technician iPad interface, this proprietary system allows facility managers to efficiently manage their passive fire protection inspections within all of their facilities on a real-time basis. LOUISVILLE, Ky. (April 21, 2011) –LSS Life Safety Services (LSS), an industry leader in passive fire protection inspection services such as fire damper inspections, fire door inspections, and firestopping services announced today that Mr. Walter M. (Mike) Eckles AHC/CDC, CSI, CDT, CFDAI has joined the company’s inspection and fire protection system commissioning team.
“We are very happy to welcome Mike to the team,” said company president Craig Rutledge. “He brings with him a deep knowledge of building codes and has quite an extensive background in fire doors, frames and finish hardware. Mr. Eckles holds multiple certifications from the Door and Hardware Institute and is an Architectural Hardware Consultant (AHC) and a Certified Door Consultant (CDC). He also holds additional certifications with Intertek as a Certified Fire Door Assembly Inspector (CFDAI), and with the Construction Specifications Institute as a Certified Construction Document Technologist (CDT). These certifications will add greatly to LSS’ high level of expertise in the field of fire door inspections.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (February 21, 2011) –LSS Life Safety Services (LSS), an industry leader in Passive Fire Protection Inspection services, announced today that they were recently granted a Federal Supply Schedule contract from the General Services Administration (GSA), simplifying procurement for federal agencies and other such customer with the ability to purchase through the Federal Supply System.
Under the five-year award contract (No. GS-21F-0056X), LSS Life Safety Services will provide passive fire protection inspection services and repairs to government facilities throughout the United States, including Hawaii, Alaska and the District of Columbia. These services include fire damper inspections, smoke damper inspections, access door installation, fire and smoke damper repairs including installations, and fire door inspection services.
“LSS has been servicing the passive fire protection inspection needs of Federal and State government, the educational community, and the healthcare and industrial industries for several years now, “ said Judy Shission, Director of Business Development. “Obtaining a GSA contract will allow us to offer our services directly to federal government agencies. Under the GSA Schedule contract, government facilities will have greater access to the inspection services based on GSA approved pricing so that facilities can easily stay in compliance with NFPA codes”, said Shission.
